TERMS OF SERVICE

WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR

ConceptCore Academy is a three-year intensive concept art education program based in Paris. Students attend in-person classes, work alongside a personal mentor, and follow a structured curriculum designed to prepare them for a professional career in concept art for film, games, and animation.

These terms cover your relationship with us as an applicant, an admitted student, and an enrolled student. By submitting an application or signing an enrolment contract, you agree to them.

The school is operated by ConceptCore Academy SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company headquartered in Paris.

APPLYING TO THE PROGRAM

// Portfolio review

Admission is based on a portfolio review and, in most cases, a conversation with a member of our team. We look at the quality of your work, your trajectory, and your fit with the program. There is no guaranteed admission, and we reserve the right to decline applications without explanation.

// Year of entry

Most students enter in Year 1. We accept Year 2 entries from candidates whose portfolio shows they are ready to skip the foundational year. Year of entry is decided by us, not by the applicant.

// Honesty in your application

Everything you submit must be your own work. Submitting work that is not yours, including AI-generated work passed off as your own, is grounds for immediate rejection or, if discovered after admission, dismissal from the program without refund.

TUITION AND PAYMENT

// Year 1 tuition

Tuition for Year 1 is 11,500 EUR. Tuition for Year 2 and Year 3 is communicated before each year and is subject to revision year over year.

// Payment plans

Tuition can be paid in full at the start of the year or in monthly instalments. Specific payment terms are set out in your enrolment contract. Payment plans do not change the total amount due.

// Late payment

If a payment is missed, we will contact you and try to find a workable solution. Sustained non-payment without communication may result in suspension from classes and, ultimately, exclusion from the program.

// Cooling-off period

Under French consumer law, you have a 14-day cooling-off period after signing your enrolment contract. During this period you can withdraw for any reason and receive a full refund of any tuition already paid. To withdraw, send written notice to academy@conceptcore.co.

// Refunds after the cooling-off period

After the cooling-off period, refunds are calculated based on when you withdraw and which services have already been delivered. The detailed refund schedule is included in your enrolment contract. We are reasonable about life circumstances; talk to us early.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

// Your work

You retain full ownership of every piece of work you create during the program. We do not claim copyright, licensing rights, or any commercial interest in student work.

// Use for promotion

By enrolling, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display your work for promotional purposes (website, social media, presentations, alumni features), with appropriate credit. You can revoke this permission at any time by writing to us.

// Course materials

Lesson plans, recorded sessions, written briefs, demos, and other materials we provide remain the property of ConceptCore Academy. They are for your personal study while enrolled. Sharing or republishing them outside the program is not permitted.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The school works because students and instructors treat each other with respect. We expect:

Serious or repeated breaches of conduct are grounds for dismissal from the program, in which case the refund schedule above does not apply.

ATTENDANCE AND ENGAGEMENT

The program is intensive. Showing up matters. Sustained absence without communication, or repeated failure to engage with assignments, may result in academic warnings and ultimately dismissal.

If you are dealing with health issues, family situations, or anything else that affects your ability to be present, please tell us early. We are far more flexible when we know what is happening.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

We deliver the program in good faith and with care. However, we do not guarantee specific career outcomes. A concept art career depends on many factors, most of them outside our control: industry conditions, your effort, your portfolio, and circumstances we cannot predict.

To the maximum extent permitted by French law, our liability for any claim arising from the program is limited to the tuition you have paid for the year in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or missed opportunities.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited under French law.

CHANGES TO THE PROGRAM

We may make adjustments to the curriculum, schedule, instructor lineup, or location of certain sessions. We do this only when it improves the program or when circumstances require it. Substantial changes will be communicated in advance.

ENDING THE AGREEMENT

You can leave the program at any time by giving written notice. Refunds, if any, follow the schedule in your enrolment contract.

We can end the agreement for cause: serious code of conduct breaches, sustained non-payment, academic dismissal, or fraudulent applications. We will always communicate clearly before doing so, except in cases where immediate action is required to protect others.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved between us will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.

If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you also retain the rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms over time. The current version always lives at this URL, with the date at the top. For enrolled students, your enrolment contract takes precedence over any later changes here.
